The 7-Point Visual Inspection
Bring a flashlight and magnet to check:

• Panel gaps (should be uniform)
• Paint texture differences (sign of repairs)
• Tire tread depth (use the quarter test)
• Fluid levels/condition (milky oil = trouble)
• Undercarriage rust (poke suspicious spots)
• Odometer readings vs maintenance records
• All electronics (test every button)

The Forgotten Test Drive Checklist

• Beyond the usual acceleration/braking tests:
• Drive over speed bumps at 15-20 MPH (listen for suspension noises)
• Test climate control at max settings
• Find an empty lot and make full left/right turns
• Check for pulling at 55 MPH (release steering briefly)
